I was born in Romania in 1982. At the age of 7 I started taking piano lessons, and in 2007 I graduated with my Master's in Piano Performance. Playing piano is what I do for a living. At times I think in neither English nor Romanian, but in Music. That’s how I think of music, that’s how I teach it – as a separate language. Perhaps one day I will expand more on this topic.
I am also a photographer. I started taking photos in 2005, without knowing what I was doing. Soon things started to fall into place whenever I looked through the viewfinder. Once I noticed that, I begun devouring books, websites, brochures, manuals... anything about photography that I could get my hands on. Nowadays I have my own photography studio, do lots of wedding photography, portraits, and of course, fine art. It has somewhat become a second profession.
When I was in college I bought titusbartos.com (the domain). I’ve had at least 15 versions of my website since then. That’s because I love art and design. And since I don’t have any official education in design, I learn as I go. If you don’t like what you see now on The Obvious or on this website, come back in a few years and I guarantee you will see improvement. Although I am not a professional web designer, I certainly strive to come up with professional results.
So that’s what I do nowadays – piano, photography, and web design. I do photography and web design to help our families and friends, but more recently I've been doing it commercially too.
In 2005 I married Laura, and together we have two girls – Sonia (born August, 2006) and Eva (born December 2007). Laura is an Independent Distributor for Monavie. This fits her very nicely, as she has always been interested in health and healthy living. She also teaches swimming in the summers, and during school months she is a stay at home mother.
We are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church – PCA in Murfreesboro, TN. So far this has been what kept us in Murfreesboro after I finished my Masters. Not only does our church preach a Christ centered and Bible based doctrine, but it also is filled with people who delight in human interaction such as community groups, fabulous fellowship feasts, volunteer projects, and other charitable actions.
Services & Fees
Piano
I am adjunct faculty at MTSU, where I am a collaborative artist for voice students (this means I play for their recitals and exams). It is not a full time, which, on one hand is a good thing, because I get to do many things on the side. One of them is teaching piano lessons. Although I used to have a relatively large studio, I only have a handful of students now, and they (or their parents) are serious about it. I charge $100 per month, regardless of how many weeks there are in one month. If you are committed to supporting your child in daily practice, please contact me and we can talk about starting piano lessons.
I play piano for weddings, but mostly for friends and family. I usually charge $250 for the wedding, $200 for the rehearsal, plus travel/lodging expenses.
If you need a pianist for a reception, special event, etc, I do that as well. My fee is $150 per hour.

I design websites on the side because it's fun. If you want me to design your website, I would love to help. My fees vary depending on project: if you want a simple website, and you don't want to update it often, it would cost you somewhere around $100 per page, plus all the domain/hosting fees. On the other hand, if you want something a bit fancier that has content management system (CMS - you edit everything directly on your website by logging in with a username and password), my fees start at $800, plus the domain/hosting fees. There is significant advantage in having a CMS website, because you don't have to pay somebody to update your pages, you do it for yourself.
