Carl at the Studio

Needed to take a break from talking about newborns. Here’s a photo of Carl that I shot back in September.

Carl and I were roommates back in college. He is also a very talented photographer and designer, and the first person to introduce me to film photography.

The day I took this photo of Carl, he had just finished a soccer game at MTSU, and brought all his equipment, so that we practice different lighting setups on each other, at my studio. To make things more interesting, I asked him not to shower before I took his picture. He didn’t, and this is what came out.

Technical Stuff: Canon 5D Mark II with 85mm f/1.2 at f/3.2 and ISO50. I forget exactly what lighting setup we used – I believe we had a couple of  Einsteins or my SB900 flashes shot through the 64″PLM.
