Lonesome Tree #2

It has been quite a while since I last posted on The Obvious, but I am glad to have found some time and post one of the photos I took this past weekend in Jackson, TN. I have been wanting to take a photo of this tree for at least one year, and never found a good time, or the inspiration to do so. If you look at the original file (found here), you will notice that this photo wasn't much of an "inspiration" either, but the contrast was very balanced, which allowed me to keep a smooth, clean, yet not boring sky in the background. And yes, in the original, the field was that color (which is why I took the photo).

Many thanks to all of you who visit The Obvious on a regular basis. I wish I could promise you that I will post more regularly, but I can't... not until the beginning of May, when my work at MTSU will be over for this semester. In the meantime, I would recommend you sign up to receive emails whenever a new photo is posted. Just enter your email address in the box under the main photo, and follow the quick steps thereafter.

  • A great picture, Titus. These trees like stand like an island & yes I like the sky. This is my meditation of the day. The graet Malcolm Holcombe once sang where is my garden. I know it by now. Thanks for sharing such beauty. All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  • Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and appearance. I must say that you've done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Chrome. Superb Blog!
